Anheuser-Busch
presents its first edition of the
Budweiser®
Holiday
Stein Series.
This relief stein features the world famous Clydesdales
eight-horse team and wagon traveling over a grassy path. The
A&Eagle is centered above the red Budweiser® wagon with
"St. Louis, MO" and "Budweiser® Champion
Clydesdales" written below. The
rich browns of the horses are further accentuated by the antique
brown background and complemented by the red accent line at the
rim and base. This 5" stein was made in Brazil by Ceramarte
and
was issued without a box.
CS-29:
This relief stein is the same as the 1980
Holiday stein but comes with a pounded pewter lid with a ball thumb rest.
This 5 7/8"
lidded stein was made in Brazil by Ceramarte and
was issued without a box.
CS29-1:
This variation of the lidded stein has GREEN
cases on the wagon and St. Louis, MO in black print and Budweiser®
Champion Clydesdales in RED
print below the grass.
Note: The outside stein color is
the result of a brown wash applied to give the ceramic color
before firing.
No two steins are exactly alike in
appearance due to varying
degrees of brown shading. Many steins may appear to have an uneven application
of the wash, resulting in dark blotching or a particular area
darker than the rest of the stein.

Anheuser-Busch
celebrates the end of the 1900's with its 20th edition to
the Budweiser® Holiday Stein
Series "A Century Of Tradition" illustrated by
artist Gary Ciccarelli.
This
dramatic, detailed illustration showcases the World Famous
Budweiser Clydesdales hitch team as they step out of a
sepia-toned postcard into a modern St. Louis Brewery
scene. The 1900 postcard has the team and drivers pulling
a wagon of beer in barrels instead of cases of bottles. As
the team pulls its load into the present day they are
greeted with a star filled winter night at the St. Louis brewery.
Behind the iron gates are evergreen trees adorned with
Christmas decorations and the windows of the brewery are
ablaze with Christmas lights.
The
scene is framed with red bands with orange trim with the
top containing holly leaves and berries, the lower with
"1900-1999 A Century Of Holiday Tradition" in
white letters. Centered over the top band is an orange
ribbon with the name "Budweiser®"
in red with black trim letters. The handle has a pattern
similar to the tassels
worn on the Clydesdales

in the long running Budweiser®
Holiday Stein
Series is "Guiding The Way Home". Artist Rip
Kastaris beautifully illustrates the Budweiser®
Clydesdales eight-horse hitch trotting down a snow covered
seaside road under the beacon of a lighthouse as waves
crash against the shoreline. The drivers are dressed in
festive red coats with red & white scarves and tuques mimicking
the lighthouse colors. The roadside evergreen trees are
decorated with Christmas ornaments as well as the
lighthouse with garland and ribbons. The image is framed
with red, green, and blue bands filled with golden sleigh
bells. The handle is shaped as a lighthouse and blue waves
circle the base of this stein.
